Artificial grass design inspirations

Many artificial grass design inspirations stem from the fact that artificial grass directly addresses the primary environmental concerns of real turf because it requires no watering, mowing or feeding, and is aesthetically pleasing and practical. It is also often manufactured from recycled materials, such as old tires or plastic bottles.

While initially perhaps a little more costly, the life expectancy of properly cared for artificial turf can be upwards of 25 years. This makes it comparatively less costly than real turf over its life span.

Artificial grass has come a long way since the first AstroTurf carpeted the Houston Astrodome in 1966 and with droughts in many parts of the world, it’s no wonder that more homes with attractive fake lawns are popping up all over.

These days, there’s a lot to like about faux grass. It does not need to be mowed and it looks great because its texture and appearance have improved dramatically over the years. In fact with the advent of new generation designs and technology, we are often fooled into thinking it’s well maintained real grass.

It is therefore for the above reasons that architects and landscape designers all over the world are incorporating artificial grass, plants, hedges and green walls into their designs.
